Thurs 8 July (1pm to 4pm) STEP UP Careers Event
Coming out of lockdown to get your future ‘on lock’. Careers event aimed at 16 to 25 years speak to employers and trainers to find out what jobs, training and voluntary opportunities are available near you. Come down to Concord Youth Centre, Claremont Road, Sparkbrook B11 1LF.

Social Enterprise Drive 2021
Social Enterprise Drive 2021 (previously CITYDRIVE) is Birmingham’s very own festival of social enterprise facilitated by iSE CIC, and with thanks to a range of sponsors and supporters. This year, #SED21 is focused on bringing experiences of social enterprise to the people of Birmingham and the broader West Midlands, by raising awareness and supporting businesses and residents to get involved in their Social Enterprise City. There are 23 online events taking place over 5 days, each showcasing the positive change social enterprises create through innovative approaches and transformational initiatives.

Uniform Assistance in Hall Green
Families across the city are in need for school uniform support come September. This event outlined the issues and how we can address them. If your organisation/ school can be a DROP-OFF and/ or COLLECTION Point this summer please get in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org.
Supporting Children & Young People’s Mental Health (Two dates: 24 & 27 May)
Workshop for professionals and community volunteers who work in or with people in the Hall Green locality. Providing support around communicating with children and young people on topics around mental health. Workshop was delivered by Pause, a mental health service for young people in Birmingham.
Thurs 29th April (1-2pm) – SEND & Early Help
We will highlight how Early Help can support children, young people and families who have been or are going through the assessment for additional needs, such as Autism and ADHD. We will display how multi-agency working can support early intervention around pre and post diagnosis of SEN. Please see our Eventbrite page to register.
15 April 2021 – Help & Support For Those in Financial Hardship
This event was designed to raise awareness around those struggling, to highlight how professionals can support them and to share information from local organisations including Narthex, Sense and Ashiana Community Project.

16 March 2021 – Child Exploitation Prevention & Early Help
We helped parents and carers to look out for signs of exploitation and breakdown barriers to seeking support locally. This took place during #WMExploitationWeek, ahead of National Exploitation Awareness day on 18/3. Attendees heard from East Birmingham Early Help teams (Family Action, Hall Green Families and Barnardo’s) and West Midlands Police.
10 March 2021 – Domestic Abuse and Local Support
An information event about domestic abuse and the relevant local community support for individuals and families that is available. Several organisations were represented at this event. Please find links to their respective slide show presentations below.
4 March 2021 – Child Exploitation Prevention in East Birmingham – Parent Support
We covered the signs of exploitation with parents and carers and broke down barriers to seeking support locally.
2 March 2021 – Funding, Food and Family Support
We looked at how to accurately fill out a family connect form and use it to its full potential. We discussed how schools and local organisations are supporting hard to reach families and how best we can help them do so.
20 January 2021 – Hall Green Community Network meeting
This meeting focused on Covid, the lockdown and the changing risks and needs that these have implicated for those community groups and organisations working to help people in this difficult time.
