In the lead-up to the event, the Hall Green NNS team hosted a Drop-in at Highfield Hall, where we invited local assets, groups, and community organisations to meet us, share their offers, and discuss potential proposals. We were delighted to connect these individuals and representatives — including colleagues from BCC Shaping Birmingham, Moseley Day Centre, and local citizens.
Many of those who attended our drop-in went on to take part in the Birmingham Market Space event itself, contributing to a fantastic turnout and a real sense of shared purpose. It was a brilliant example of collaboration in action — bringing together networks, resources, and people to make something truly impactful.
We were delighted to receive this generous feedback from Leni Sivey, Public Participation Officer, Birmingham City Council:
“Working with the Hall Green Neighbourhood Network Scheme has been a tremendous asset to us in Birmingham City Council’s Public Participation Team, particularly in developing the Shaping Birmingham’s Future Together partnership.
“The Hall Green NNS team are passionate advocates both for the brilliant neighbourhood organisations and groups they support, and for their local community. Their skill and deep commitment to bringing people and organisations together made a big difference to our co-delivery of the first Shaping Birmingham’s Future Together community information marketplace in January 2025.
“They helped us to connect with the right people, ensured community needs were front and centre, and provided us with constructive feedback that has hugely improved the way we’ve planned and delivered the subsequent SBFT marketplace events with local NNS teams in other areas.
“Their ongoing willingness to shape this programme of work for the better has had a tangible positive impact on building trust between the Council and communities, and enabling us to collaborate better for the benefit of residents in Hall Green and beyond.”
Leni Sivey, Public Participation Officer, Birmingham City Council
We’re truly grateful to Leni and the Public Participation Team for their partnership and kind words — and we look forward to continuing this work together to strengthen community connections across Birmingham. 💜
