Connecting families and young people to support

We are a small, caring team here to help children, young people and families who need support.

We can work with any family, young person or professional supporting families in Hall Green, Sparkbrook, Sparkhill, Balsall Heath, Moseley, Kings Heath or Brandwood.

Translation available

Our team speak several languages, and we work with translators when this is needed.

How to get support from our team

If you are a parent, carer or young person*: please complete the Family Connect Form – Self Referral

If you are a professional*: please complete the Family Connect Form – for Professionals

*Please use the Postcode Checker below to check which Early Help locality your family falls under. You will need this when asked on the Family Connect Form*

Birmingham’s Early Help service is making it easier for professionals to help families access commissioned services. Using the new Family Connect Form (FCF) – Commissioned Service Specialist Request form, schools and partners can now connect directly to the Early Help commissioned services when a family/child/young person is in need of a specific intervention.

As this is a pilot scheme, the two commissioned services currently using this form are Barnardo’s Mentoring and Barnardo’s Autism. The new FCF process will be reviewed in December to ascertain its effectiveness and its continued use. We will keep you updated on the review.

Please ensure you read the criteria before submitting the FCF as some requests may not be accepted if this criteria is not met. This can be found on the new FCF page directly or on the BCC page here, under “FCF Commissioned Service Specialist Request”

Please provide as much information as possible, as this helps us get the right support for you, as quickly as possible.

If you would like our team to offer a family support drop-in or support surgery at your school or organisation to speak directly to families or young people, please contact hallgreen.families@greensquareaccord.co.uk with the subject line “Drop-In Surgery”.

Our Hall Green Families Drop-ins help us to meet with families that you work with and connect them to the local support that they need. These could be services around food provision, mental health, debt and benefit advice, clothing and school uniform, and much more.
