This week, community organisations across Hall Green came together for a practical and engaging AI Masterclass, led by Smartlyte and funded by Hall Green NNS.
The session aimed to demystify artificial intelligence and show how small teams can use it to save time, improve decision-making, and strengthen their work — all without needing a technical background.
The session began with a clear, jargon-free introduction to AI, helping participants understand how it works and where it already appears in our daily lives. The focus was on real-world relevance, with examples tailored to the needs of community-based organisations. It was clear from the conversations that community organisations are eager to embrace new tools — as long as they’re practical, ethical, and accessible.
Participants then explored how free tools like ChatGPT and Canva can support everyday tasks — from writing reports and social media posts to generating ideas and analysing feedback. For many, the biggest takeaway was how AI can act as a digital assistant, easing the pressure on small teams.
A huge thank you to Smartlyte for expertly leading the session and to help build digital confidence and capacity across our local network.
