Care & Connect Day brings carers, families, and communities together.
Yesterday, Moseley Day Centre, in partnership with the Hall Green Neighbourhood Network Scheme (NNS) and Pure, hosted a hugely successful Care & Connect Day — a vibrant community event celebrating connection, opportunity, and wellbeing at the Moseley Day Centre.
The Hall was buzzing with conversation and collaboration, as carers, citizens, families, and service providers came together to share advice and resources to help people live well and stay independent.

The event was designed especially for carers and both younger and older adults with learning difficulties, providing a welcoming and accessible space to explore local opportunities, discover practical support, and build meaningful connections.
Being held at Moseley Day Centre allowed organisations to engage directly with those communities — creating an inclusive environment where attendees could connect with services and information tailored to their needs.
Care & Connect Day featured a wide range of community partners offering guidance, financial provision, and hands-on support, including:
- PURE – Employment advice and opportunities.
- Daar Ul Jannah – Skills workshops, guidance for 18–49-year-olds, and foodbank information.
- Bold Actions – Showcasing local sewing and befriending groups.
- ACP Carers Fund Team – Help with applications for the £300 one-off carers’ fund.
- Hall Green Neighbourhood Network Scheme – Community support and local connections.
- Cadent – Free carbon monoxide alarms and energy-saving advice.
- Household Support Fund – Information on local financial support and how to access it.
- And many more!

Moseley Day Centre Senior Day Centre Officer, Yashar Ahari added:
“I think the event has been very, very positive. Hall Green NNS have done a great job in supporting Moseley Day Centre and all the other providers coming today. NNS has helped organise, they’ve helped provide food and they’ve helped make all our citizens, carers and families feel more welcome. It’s been a really good, positive, successful event. Thankyou Hall Green NNS Moseley Day Centre”
We also caught up with Basharat Ali, Project Coordinator at Dar Ul Jannah. He attended to inform Service users of his 12-month project aimed at Adults 18+ with autism, learning disabilities, long-term conditions, or mental health needs.
The project aims to equip participants with the confidence, independence, and practical skills needed for daily life. By focusing on hands-on learning, individuals will be empowered to navigate everyday challenges more effectively.
He said: “As a stall holder, the event’s been really good. I’ve had a lot of interest from a lot of organisations as well as individuals who have taken details and hopefully, they will be engaging with our service, as it is so needed.”
Moseley Day Centre’s Care & Connect Day demonstrated the power of partnership working — showing how collaboration between community organisations, the voluntary sector, and local residents can lead to real, lasting impact.
A big thank you to everyone who made it such a success — showing the power of community in action!
