Measles Outbreak in Birmingham

26 January 2024

Sparkbrook Children’s Zone is working hard to support children lead happy, healthy lives. Our doctors and community Early Help team have been responding to the measles outbreak by working with partners in the community to raise awareness, share information and answer questions to help stop the spread of measles.

We held an urgent briefing for our community partners on Monday 15th January. This online briefing was in response to the rising number of measles cases in the Sparkbrook ward.

We are actively working to help our community and offer resources around measles. Please visit our Sparkbrook Children’s Zone YouTube channel where we will be uploading videos with information about measles. Videos will also be uploaded in different languages spoken in our community.

In addition, we are working with the community to disseminate key information around measles and offering sessions to educate our community on the importance of MMR immunisation and answering questions our community members may have about measles.

Please visit our SCZ Resources page, where you can find lots more information to download and share.
